My Approach

My counselling approach is clinically informed, faith-based and holistic. There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach; I believe that each person is unique and must be understood and cared for in a manner that takes into consideration both the body and soul. My aim is to create a compassionate, safe, and grace-filled space to work through life’s pain and difficulties. I engage clients in exploring their stories to uncover the impact of past wounds and identify places where they have begun to believe false narratives about themselves, others, and God. I believe that God’s word speaks into all areas of life and Biblical truths guide my counselling approach.
In working with children I use therapeutic play to connect, leading to deeper conversations about what is going on at the heart-level. I use creative interventions tailored uniquely to each child, geared towards their particular interests and circumstance. As a mother of four children and having worked with kids in various contexts for over twenty years, I understand the importance building trust and connection. You can find more information about child therapy here.
I find it a great privilege to be a part of someone’s journey toward change and I seek to bring hope to women, children and youth in hurting places.
